10 countries account for two thirds of Jordan’s import in 3 months

Amman – Ten countries accounted for two thirds or 64.6 percent of Jordan’s total imports in the first three months of 2012.

The value of imports from the 10 countries stood at JD436 million out of the total imports of Jordan that reached 3.766 billion at the end of March this year.

Saudi Arabia ranked first with the Kingdom’s imports from the neighboring country standing at JD1.17 billion followed China JD323 million.

The United Stat ranked third with JD305 million followed by Egypt JD151.4 million, Germany JD144 million, Italy JD113.8 million and South Korea JD109 million.

Turkey ranked seventh with JD106 million followed by India JD105 million and Bahrain JD77 million.

The Kingdom’s exports to the first 10 countries reached JD742.4 million or 66.9 percent of the total of its exports which stood at JD1.117 billion at the end of March.

The United States ranked first with JD181.7 million, followed by Iraq JD127.3 million, India JD115.5 million, Saudi Arabia JD101 million.

The value of exports to Indonesia amounted to JD65 million, Syria, JD60.8 million, Lebanon JD47 million, China JD39 million, the free zone JD35.4 million and the United Arab Emirates JD33.9 million.
